My name is Morris L. Madden and I have been serving in law enforcement since 1995.  I have resided in Laurens S.C. all my life and I graduated from Laurens District 55 High School in 1989.  After high school I attended Spartanburg Methodist College and earned my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice in 1991.  In 1995 I was hired by the Laurens City Police Department as a Dispatcher/ Jailer.  In 1996 I was promoted to a Patrolman position and sent to the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.  After graduating from the Police Academy I was assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division.  During my time at the Laurens P.D. I learned many valuable law enforcement techniques and experienced many different types of situations that helped mold me into a well-rounded police officer.

In 2004 I left Laurens and gladly accepted a position at the Simpsonville Police Department.  My first assignment was with the Uniform Patrol Division.  In November of 2004 I was transferred to the Community Support Division.  This assignment has placed me inside Hillcrest High School as the School Resource Officer.  Being a SRO is a new experience for me and somewhat of a challenge considering there are close to 2300 students at Hillcrest High and only 2 Resource Officers.  Although the first six and a half months were challenging and frustrating at times, I still enjoyed being at school every day.  My goals are to show the students, faculty, and staff a positive law enforcement role model, someone they can talk to and someone they can trust, and to help provide a safe and secure campus for everyone.  I also want the students, faculty, and staff of Hillcrest High to know that I am proud to be a member of the Simpsonville Police Department and honored to be their School Resource Officer. GO RAMS!! (EXCEPT WHEN YOU PLAY LAURENS, THEN GO RAIDERS!!)

Please feel free to contact me at my office, by phone (864-355-3500) or  e-mail mmadden@simpsonvillepd.com , as I welcome all feedback.
